Literati Lounge Men’s Book Club – Code of Conduct & Etiquette

Be Present and Engaged

• Arrive on time and stay for the full session.

• Be mentally and emotionally present — limit distractions (phones on silent, avoid multitasking).

• Read the assigned chapters before each meeting to contribute meaningfully to the discussion.

Respect the Space and Each Other

• Allow everyone a chance to speak — no interrupting or dominating conversations.

• Listen actively and respectfully, even if you disagree.

• Use “I” statements when sharing perspectives (e.g., “I felt…” rather than “You should…”).

Keep It Confidential

• What’s shared in the group stays in the group.

• Create a safe space where men can speak openly without judgment or gossip.

Contribute with Intention

• Bring your unique insights — don’t be afraid to share your thoughts, experiences, or questions. • Encourage others — support brothers who are quieter or more reflective.

• Stay on topic to keep discussions meaningful and connected to the book’s themes.

Honor Growth and Brotherhood

• Approach each discussion with humility and a willingness to learn.

• Challenge ideas, not people — we build each other, not tear down.

• Acknowledge the value of fellowship and accountability as part of our growth journey.

Maintain a Positive and Uplifting Energy

• Celebrate progress, participation, and personal breakthroughs.

• Use encouraging language and maintain a tone of respect, even in disagreement.

• Remember: this space is about becoming better men — spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Engage Beyond the Meetings

• Reflect on the week’s lessons and apply them in daily life.

• Share inspirational takeaways or quotes in the group chat (if available).

• Support group events, outreach, and brotherhood initiatives when possible
